Shoplifting Arrest

3201 Old Lee Highway / Home Depot – On March 10 at 9:35 AM a citizen reported that he had observed a male subject take a power saw from the store without paying for it. Responding officers located the subject in the area and took him into custody. Latroy Shelton, 38, of no fixed address, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with petit larceny third or subsequent offense and drunk in public. His bond was set at $5000. 

Attempted Fraud

4200 Block of Lamarre Drive – On March 11 at 1:27 PM the resident reported that he had received several telephone calls from unknown persons claiming that his grandson was in jail and he should send money for bail and attorney’s fees by Western Union money order. The resident then verified that his grandson was not in trouble of any kind, and after receiving a subsequent call from the unknown subjects, the resident called police.

10300 Main Street / TJ Maxx – On March 11 at 8:39 PM officers responded to a report of a male subject who had displayed a knife to an employee while attempting to receive a return refund for merchandise without presenting a receipt. The subject had then left the store, triggering a security alarm. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division the suspect was identified and arrested near his residence and was found to have items from the store in his possession. Christopher Scott Kohne, 33, of 9802 Richard Avenue, Fairfax, was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with assault with a knife, grand larceny and possession of burglarious tools and was ordered held without bond.

9622 Main Street / Shoppers Food Warehouse Parking Lot – On March 6 at 9:35 AM the vehicle owner reported that on March 4 unknown person(s) had broken the rear window on his parked vehicle. 

Larceny

4000 Block of Roberts Road – On March 7 at 11:30 AM the property owner reported that an employee had informed him that two other contract employees had taken hardware and a tool from the residence. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, the suspects were identified and warrants were obtained charging them with petit larceny. Warrant service was pending.

10520 Main Street / Truro Church – On March 7 at 2:30 PM the church administrator reported that sometime after February 25 unknown person(s) had stolen a number of copper downspouts from the church building. 

Credit Card Fraud

9711 Fairfax Boulevard / A-Plus Motors – On March 7 at 4:19 PM the owner reported that between February 10 and March 5 unknown person(s) had made numerous unauthorized purchases on his business credit card. 

Larceny

3775 Pickett Road / Commercial Floral Services – On March 7 at 4:53 PM the owner reported that an employee reported that on January 24 a female subject who was known to him had taken items from the business without permission. The Patrol Division is investigating the case. 

Telephone Threats

9959 Main Street / Piero’s Corner Restaurant – On March 8 at 4:47 PM the female victim reported that a male acquaintance had called her at her place of employment and made profane and threatening statements. The victim was transported to the magistrate’s office where a magistrate issued a warrant charging the subject with use of profane language over airways. Kyle William Reedy, 25, of 13515 Moss Glen Road, Clifton, was served with the warrant by Fairfax County Police on March 9 and transported to the Adult Detention Center where his bond was set at $14,000.
