Farmers Market Season Kicks Off This Weekend!

Here are all the details of what you can expect this year.

 

Fresh air, sunshine, and of course, samples!

All of that spells good news - the Downtown Fairfax farmers markets are open for business as of this weekend.

  • Saturdays, May 11 - Nov. 2, 2013: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Sundays, May 12 - Nov. 3, 2013: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Downtown Fairfax Coalition, which sponsors the weekend markets, says there are many great things locals can expect this year, including:

  • Fruits, vegetables, and plants
  • Cut flowers and flowering baskets
  • Jams, jellies, and honey
  • Bakery items and french bakery
  • Berkshire pork products, poultry, lamb & beef
  • Eggs
  • Milk & local cheeses
  • Argentine chorizo and empanadas
  • Tex-Mex BBQ sauces and dry rubs
  • Wildtree Natural Products
  • Jewelry
  • Arts & crafts by local artists

....and much more.

LOCATION: Both of this year's markets will take place at the corner of West and Main streets behind the Wells Fargo Bank and adjacent to the Historic Fairfax County Courthouse.
