Crime Report: 2 Cars Discovered Missing From Auto Dealer

Also, two larceny arrests, shoplifting, and vandalism to vehicles.

Two vehicles have been reported missing from the Fairfax Hyundai dealership on Fairfax Boulevard.

On the morning of July 6, Fairfax City police officers responded to the Fairfax Hyundai following a call from the manager.

The manager reported that, after conducting inventory, it had been determined that, sometime after Jan. 3, an unknown person or persons had taken a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2013 Hyundai Sonata from the dealership’s lot.

Police filed a report.

The following additional incidents were reported by the City of Fairfax Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

July 7 - Vandalism: A vehicle owner reported that, sometime after 7 p.m. on July an unknown person or persons had scratched the paint on his parked vehicle with a sharp object. Occurred in the 3900 block of Lyndhurst Drive.

July 7 - Shoplifting: At 3:29 p.m. an employee of the Goodwill store at 9960 Main Street reported that a male subject had been observed taking an item of merchandise from the store without paying and then leaving the area in a vehicle.

July 10 - Larceny Arrest: On July 4 at 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious activity in the vicinity of Colony Road and Heritage Lane. They observed two male subjects walking away from two bicycles which had been left on the grass. An investigation revealed that the pair had taken the bicycles from an unlocked detached garage at a residence on Tedrich Boulevard. A 20-year-old transient was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with interfering with the property rights of another, and his bond was set at $1,000. A 16-year-old City of Fairfax youth was also taken into custody and released to his mother. Juvenile petitions were to be sought, charging him with unlawful entry and grand larceny.

July 8 - Vandalism: A vehicle owner reported that, sometime after 8:30 p.m. the night before, an unknown person or persons had made pry marks on his parked vehicle, which had been parked at the 3400 block of Preservation Drive, causing dents. Entry was not gained into the vehicle.
