City's Chocolate Festival Seeks Local Organizations to Donate Proceeds To

Each year, proceeds from the popular chocolate festival are donated to a local nonprofit organization in the form of a grant.

The City of Fairfax's Chocolate Lovers Festival Committee has opened the application period for nonprofit organizations that want to apply for its annual grant.

Each year, the committee seeks a local organization to donate proceeds to, in the form of a grant.

Organizations that are either based in Fairfax City, or based close by but benefit residents of Fairfax City, are invited to apply.

Committee members say, "We seek organizations that contribute to the common good and the community at large."

The Chocolate Lovers Festival is an annual tradition in which chocolatiers and confectioners sell their treats throughout the streets of Old Town. There are also many fun events such as a cake judging contest, activities for children, cake decorating workshops, and even fun, chocolate-themed activities like mock trials, trivia contests and more. The festival will take place in February.

The deadline for the grant application is Nov. 15.

The application is attached to this article in a PDF that can be downloaded.
