Japanese Summer Festival of Obon

Enjoy a Traditional Japanese Summer Festival of Obon

Join hundreds of participants for our summer Japanese celebration at Ekoji Buddhist Temple on Saturday, July 13 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm.  This annual Obon Festival includes a full evening of activities featuring a performance by the Aloha boys, a local Hawaiian music group, along with traditional Japanese folk dancing, children's games, a taiko performance by Nen Daiko and a memorial candle ceremony.  Our many booths will feature Japanese crafts, clothing (including kimono and a kimono/yukata dressing and photo-shoot service), culture and products.  Food includes bento with teriyaki chicken, cold somen, spam musubi, Ninja hot dogs, Hawaiian shaved-ice and a new rice bar with many choice Japanese toppings like curry and gyudon.

Admission if free, come join us! www.ekoji.org
