Fair City Mall Celebrates Grand Opening of Two Stores

Mayor Scott Silverthorne was on hand to help cut the ribbon.

It was a big weekend for Fairfax City's Fair City Mall as two stores celebrated their grand openings.

Mayor Scott Silverthorne was on hand to help cut the ribbon for the outdoor mall's brand-new Banner's Gold Crown Hallmark store.

From 12 to 5 p.m., the store welcomed customers to its celebration in which they got to pick a leaf off a tree that revealed a special discount, plus enjoy refreshments and face-painting for the kids.

Also on Friday, the store Five Below celebrated its grand re-opening.

The store used to be located next to the First Watch Cafe, now it is across the street and a few doors down from A.C. Moore, where it calls a bigger space its new home.

Five Below is a discount superstore, where everything in the store is $5 and below. The store features everything from gift wrap, to candy, to bath and body products, to iPod cases, to inexpensive deck furniture, and much, much more.

Fair City Mall
is located on Main Street near the intersection of Pickett Road, just across the street from W.T. Woodson High School.

Have you been to either of these stores yet? If so, what did you think of them? Tell us in the comments below.
