Today's Lesson: Eye Level Learning Expanding to Fairfax this Fall

Need help with school work?

Andrew and Jessie Sample have established three Eye Level Learning Centers in the Washington D.C. region and are expanding into the Fairfax area this fall.

Eye Level is an individualized and self-directed program for math, reading, and writing, not only improving a child’s performance in these areas, but also promoting self-confidence, concentration, and independence in the child, its owners say.

“Starting a new business is undoubtedly difficult. However, all the hard work is paying off as we get to watch our business grow, contribute to the local economy, and help hundreds of students become more successful both inside and outside the classroom,” says Andrew Sample.

With centers in Alexandria, Vienna and Ashburn, the couple decided to open up its fourth location in Fairfax at 11204 Lee Highway, Suite A-2.

The company currently works with more than 300 children in the combined locations. In addition to Andrew and Jessie, the company has hired two full-time directors and 10 part-time instructors.

Andrew and Jessie graduated from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina in 2009. Andrew began his career with Morgan Stanley in New York and Jessie worked for an Eye Level center in Rye, N.Y. They moved to Alexandria in 2010 when Andrew accepted a position with the consulting firm Accenture.

They saw an opportunity to open their own franchised learning center in the Alexandria area, and Jessie assumed the role of director. As the business grew and they saw potential for additional locations, Andrew left his job with Accenture and jumped full-time into the business with Jessie.
