Cher Skoubo, owner and founder, creates digital graphics for online, broadcast and print applications. Her Flash graphics created for NPR’s election coverage were winner of the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia, Award for Excellence in Journalism. Skoubo’s interest in leading edge technologies has led her to create new interfaces and systems for changing media. She created Flash news modules for NPR reporters where they developed news reports, integrating components (such as galleries, movies, timelines, maps and quizzes) to help tell their stories. The reporters then uploaded these files from remote locations to NPR’s central server where they went live on NPR’s website. She created interactive TV graphics and coding for PBS in a national trial. New prototypes were developed, testing both technologies and audience interest. Creative systems were designed so that local content could be added to national television broadcasts—all under the master direction of the national producer. Cher Skoubo works with local businesses to clarify their target market and strategies and then works with them to design, illustrate and code websites, DVDs, animations, presentations, brochures and corporate collateral. Her websites have won many awards including the Colorado Broadcasters Association’s Award of Excellence, Colorado Historical Society’s Award for Historic Preservation, the American Association for State and Local History’s Best Practices and CPB’s Digital Alliances’ Models for Collaboration. Cher Skoubo has a B.A. in Graphics and Advertising and currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia. Contact Cher Skoubo at Skoubo Graphics: http://www.skoubographics.com
