Update 9:09 p.m.: The Glenn family has released a statement confirming that the body found today in Thaiss Park is that of Bryan Glenn, a Woodson High School senior who had been missing since last Monday. Update 4:16 p.m.: Fairfax County police said Monday afternoon a male body was discovered Monday about three-fourths of a mile past the tree line at Thaiss Park. Speaking not far from that tree line, Officer Eddy Azcarate said the search party organized by Bryan Glenn's family — not police — discovered the body today. Azcarate told members of the media gathered at the scene that police could have missed the body in their search last week for a number of reasons: the initial search was not the step-by-step, grid sweep most residents think …

Vigil held at Woodson high school after homecoming victory.
Woodson students, their parents, friends and football players gathered at the high school stadium after Saturday's homecoming win to pray for Bryan Glenn's safe return. Family and friends pleaded with the crowd to come forward if they knew anything about Bryan's whereabouts or what happened to him the Monday morning he disappeared. "Most likely someone in your age group knows where he is," said Julia Ross, a SAT prep/college coach who worked with Bryan and his brother up to three times a week for a past few months. "We need you to tell. There won't be any punishment. When this is all over and Bryan's home we're going to have a big party." The Woodson senior was last seen dropping his younger brother Marty off at Woodson High School at …
Mike Glenn doesn't think his son, Woodson High senior Bryan Glenn, ran away.
The Glenns didn't realize something might be wrong until Monday night. Their oldest son didn't come home right after football practice at Woodson High School that day, but that wasn't so unusual. Sometimes Bryan crossed Main Street to grab a bite at McDonald's, or stayed to chat with his friends. When Bryan, 17, still hadn't returned 45 minutes after practice, his father, Mike, hopped into his car and drove out to his son's usual hangouts. No luck. His other son, Marty, reached out to teammates and heard something a bit more disturbing. No one had seen Bryan at practice. In fact, no one saw Bryan in school at all that day. Mike and his wife filed a police report. Fairfax City Police called them at 3 a.m. The car Bryan had been driving was…

Friends, family plan to gather after 1:30 p.m. football game
Earlier this week, friends and family of Woodson High School senior Bryan Glenn expected to see him take the football field with his Cavaliers for Saturday's homecoming game. Instead, they'll take the field after the game for a vigil to support the 17-year-old student who went missing Monday, coming together to support his family and make sense of why and how he might have disappeared. The vigil, organized by Bryan's younger brother Marty, begins immediately after the game, at 4 p.m. Saturday at the high school, 9525 Main Street, Fairfax. "He is a good guy to everyone, a good friend, and an even better brother. Let's bring him home," says the group named "Find Bryan Glenn" on Facebook, which as of Friday night had reached 1,314 members. …
Officers spend days combing woods near where Bryan Glenn's car was found.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children lists 17-year-old Woodson High School student Bryan Glenn as an endangered runaway, but family and friends are adamant that it's not true. They fear something happened to Bryan to make him just disappear. "I am 100 percent sure that Bryan did not just walk away from his close-knit family," said Julia Ross, a SAT prep/college coach who worked with Bryan and his brother up to three times a week for a past few months. "I have worked with teens for 20 years and have seen it all — the good, the bad and the ugly. Bryan is part of the good." Ross, owner of Fairfax Station's Professional Tutoring, last saw Bryan the night before he vanished. Nothing about that time made her expect him to be on…
