Glenn family asks for patience and respect.
Fairfax County Police are no longer investigating the death of W.T. Woodson High School student Bryan Glenn. The Virginia Medical Examiner's office ruled the manner and cause of Glenn's death as suicide by hanging. No more details are available to the public. "The report is new and we are just now reviewing it," said Bryan's father, Mike Glenn. "We ask for patience and respect for our family's privacy. As everyone can imagine, this has been an extraordinarily difficult time for our family and Bryan's friends. We want to continue to be respectful of the investigation process and are thankful for the work being done by law enforcement." Fairfax City teen went missing Oct. 1 and was found dead near Thaiss Park a week later.
The Virginia Medical Examiner's office has ruled the manner and cause of W.T. Woodson High School student Bryan Glenn's death as suicide by hanging. The ruling comes after a months-long wait for residents of Fairfax City, who have remained heartbroken and without many answers after Glenn was found dead off a trail in Thaiss Park after a week-long disappearance in October. Glenn went missing Oct. 1. The 17-year-old was found dead by volunteers in the woods near Thaiss Park on Pickett Road in mid-October, days after his car was also found near the park. City and county police say there's no threat to the public.
Police say they believe there is no threat to the public after volunteers found the body of missing Woodson student Bryan Glenn in the woods near Thaiss Park on Columbus Day. Fairfax City Police recently stepped up patrols around Pickett Road, Silver King Court and Thaiss Park, but not as a response to a predator or perceived threat. "The entire City of Fairfax is a low crime area. We have not had a murder in three years," said Sgt. Joe Johnson of the City of Fairfax Police Department. "The park is safe. It was a request we received from the community and we have stepped up patrols until this case is closed." The children are in music class and I thought about quickly publishing a “Mom Who Gives Back” article or perhaps answering a couple of questions for my Mom-to-Mom advice column. Family and friends expressed shock after volunteers found the body of missing Woodson student Bryan Glenn in the woods Monday near Thaiss Park. "With tremendous sadness in our hearts, we learned this afternoon of our son Bryan’s death," Mike and Rosella Glenn said in an email to Patch.
