Stuff the Bus Raises 1,000 Pounds of Food for Our Daily Bread

Next stop is Fair City Shoppers Food in Fairfax.

Fairfax nonprofit Our Daily Bread received over 1,000 pounds of food in a day with the help of Fairfax County's Stuff the Bus program. This program raises money and restocks food stores for local families in need. The decorated FASTRAN bus stopped at Walmart in Fairfax City to collect food and money donations for Our Daily Bread Feb. 2. Sharon Bulova, chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, stopped by to help out. Our Daily Bread gained 1,000 pounds of food and $868 from the event. Stuff the Bus runs from Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 21) to President's Day (Feb. 18) with the bus stopping at different locations throughout the county to raise food and money for various nonprofits. So far Stuff the Bus has raised 6,500 pounds…
