Traffic Alert: Roads Blocked for Saturday's CASA Run

Get the details of which roads will be affected by Saturday's 10k and 3k runs.

  City of Fairfax Police are advising residents and commuters that some streets will be blocked off Saturday for the CASA Run for the Children. This year’s Fairfax CASA Run, sponsored by the Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates, consists of a 10k beginning at 8:30 a.m. and a 3k beginning at 9 a.m. The runs will both start and finish at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Old Town. The event consists of courses for both runners and walkers, and will involve the use of residential streets and major roadways in both the City of Fairfax and the adjoining area of Fairfax County. Police will be blocking off the right eastbound lane of Main Street between Judicial Drive and West Street, as well as the right southbound lane of Chain Bridge Road …

UPDATE: Main Lanes Closed Today, Pickett Tomorrow

Lanes close to make way for construction and gas crews.

UPDATE (11:25 a.m.): Pickett Road closures canceled Tuesday. Moved to Wednesday. Construction and gas crews closed lanes on Pickett Road and Main Street in Fairfax City Tuesday. Southbound Pickett Road: Right lane closed between Colonial Avenue and Mathy Drive. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anderson Co. crews will be working on entrace construction during this time frame. (This has been moved to tomorrow.) Main Street: Crews will close one lane at a time. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. One lane will always be open for traffic. Washington Gas/NPL will conduct service installations during this time frame. Information provided by City of Fairfax.

Closures on University Drive, Roberts Road

Dominion Power working in two locations for much of Thursday

Drivers will have only partial address to two main Fairfax City roads on Thursday as Dominion Virginia Power completes work in the area. Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Dominion will be working in the following locations, according to an alert from the City of Fairfax: Patch will update this story as more informaiton becomes available.
