Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers Now Open in Fairfax

Fairfax Freddy's is the first of a number of locations coming to Northern Virginia.

Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, located at 10030 Fairfax Blvd., is now open in Fairfax. The eatery has been under construction for the past few months, taking over the old Kentucky Fried Chicken location. Freddy's Steakburgers to Open in Fairfax

The custard and steakburger shop will hire 60 employees.

A new custard and steakburger restaurant plans to make its new home on Fairfax Boulevard in the coming months. Currently under construction, Freddy's will open at 10030 Fairfax Boulevard in the old Kentucky Fried Chicken location. Its one of six Freddy's shops to move to Northern Virginia, said Sarah Selmon, communications director for the chain. Freddy's originally opened in 2000 in Wichita, Kansas. Two sons, Randy and Bill, opened the restaurant in honor of their father, World War II vet Freddy Simon. It became a franchise in 2004. Since then it's spread to 22 states across the nation.
