Police Chief Rick Rappoport

Rick Rappoport has served as the Fairfax City police chief for nine years. Before taking on the city position, he spent 24 years with the Fairfax County Police Department, retiring in 2000 as a deputy chief of police.

He was elected president of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police for 2008-2009. Rappoport received a BA in justive from American University, graduated from a special 12-week Administrative Officers Course at the University of Louisville and the FBI's National Academy in Quantico.

Rappoport has been involved in the following organizations: Governor's Advisory Committee on Bias Based Policing, International Association of Chiefs of Police, Virginia SPI, Virginia FBINA alumni associations, Virginia Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates of Virginia and Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Police Chiefs Committee.
