Rob and Suzanne Kalmin are wonderful; they are very good at what they do and are a pleasure to work with. They both care tremendously about the quality of their work (and their crew's work) and I never once doubted if there was a small bump in the road that they wouldn't correct it. We had done a lot of research and read the horror stories of projects gone awry, crooked contractors, and poor quality work - none of this came into play with RJK. They are a reputable remodeling firm doing high quality work and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company or use them again.

I made my acquaintance with RJK Construction, Inc a few months ago when I was looking around for a reputable company to fix a leak from a water pipe in my study ceiling. I checked out several companies and boy am I glad I found them.
Several of the companies I contacted said the job was too small for them, or they wanted an arm and a leg to come over. I spoke with RJK and they understood my problem and said that though the job is small for their firm, they will come over and fix the leak for me at time and supplies rate.
The people who came over were very knowledgeable and fixed the problem in my study. They then noticed two additional leaks in the family room ceiling and they fixed them as well. I was really surprised what a great job they did and the reasonable price.
I was impressed with the excellent staff of RJK and the quality of their workmanship, and subsequently contracted them to redo my kitchen and bathroom faucets as well.
The best compliment to RJK came from my wife when she told me that this is one time when the outcome of the contracted worked exceeded her expectations.
What makes RJK an excellent company is their management and staff. They are very knowledgeable, keep the customer informed of the work status, and deliver an excellent product.

When I made my first tentative call to RJK Construction the only things I knew for sure were that I wanted a new bathroom and approximately what I wanted to spend. I did not have a lot of time (or inclination) to spend on shopping for fixtures, tile, etc. and I explained this to Suzanne up front. She and Rob (and their crew) took care of everything from that point on. Except for the tile, which I selected from a showroom with Suzanne’s help, everything else was presented to me and brought to the house for my approval: granite, paint samples, shower, sink and light fixtures, it could not have been easier.
The quality of the work (including an innovative tile design that Rob did) was exceptional and the workers punctual and neat. I was given regular e-mail updates on the progress of the project as well as the timeline for completion. Everything was done in a timely manner and even came in slightly under budget. Above and beyond the quality of the overall workmanship, RJK Construction provided a very personal aspect to the remodel: there was never any question that I was in very good hands. I wholeheartedly recommend this company and will most definitely use them again.

We are very pleased with our remodeled master bathroom. Rob and Suzanne were so helpful and easy to work with. They listened to what we wanted, helped us design and find products, and worked within our budget. We were impressed with Rob's professionalism and workmanship. Rob works to have the finished product perfect for the customer. He replaced tiles in order to change the location of the shower/tub faucet and handle. When the recessed mirror medicine cabinet would not fit, he had mirrors framed with wood that matched the cabinetry. He pays attention to details. We love the recessed tile area in the shower for shampoo bottles. He finished the windows with molding. The tile on the shower walls and floor, the cabinetry, and the granite countertop are fabulous. I now have cupboard and drawer space, a whirlpool tub, recessed lighting and sleek faucets and accessories. I am definitely having R.J.K. Construction, Inc. work on my next remodeling project.

Due to a 2nd floor water leak, we experienced extensive house damage that resulted in us losing our entire kitchen. On top of this, we had finally been picked for an adoption which added a significant time crunch. My wife & I did our research; interviewed several companies. RJK towered over everyone else with whom we spoke. They coordinated everything: plumbing, electrical, tile work, etc. They had an excellent balance of design & engineering. Our initial impressions of the company were correct, but insufficient as to how wonderful they were. Instead of coming in with their own ideas of how our new kitchen should look, they listened to us, talked to us about how we used the kitchen (e.g. my wife loves to bake), & worked with us to design something that we would love. One thing that really stood out is that they have middle-class sensibilities. They were always on time & when they were stuck in traffic, they called to let us know they were late. They cleaned up after themselves every single day. They did the common sense things that are often not that common sense. As a woodworker, I am picky when it comes to cabinetry & trim-work. I was incredibly impressed with their craftsmen & craftsmanship. RJK was ultimately focused on making sure we were satisfied. They communicated well. They pricing was highly reasonable. I am happy to share my experience with RJK. In the past 5 years they have helped us to remodel/build several rooms; to included kitchen/addition, 2 bathrooms, and foyer. All projects required major renovations & tile work was done throughout. Guidance on the arrangement of fixtures, as well as tile type & pattern came from both Suzanne & Rob. We absolutely were pleased with the work done. RJK worked with us from the conception to completion of all projects. We were on a very tight budget & they recommend materials that would help us stay within our budget. There were times that we chose to increase our budget & RJK was very flexible with our change. For all projects completed, we stayed just at our budget. One of the things we liked most was that we were always kept abreast of the schedule & when the projects would be completed. If changes needed to be made we were made aware. RJK really paid attention to what it was we were looking for in our completed project. They were incredibly professional & we are very much looking forward to working with them in the future. I would highly recommend RJK. We worked with a contractor in the past that ran off with our final payment without completing the project. After finding RJK, we are happy that we have an honest contractor with integrity that we can trust with all our remodeling/design needs.
