Holiday Shopping Extravaganza in Fairfax City This Weekend

Hundreds of buyers and sellers from around the region will participate this weekend.

Hold on to your pocketbooks, because this weekend is the return of the annual Holiday Craft Fair extravaganza at Fairfax High School.

We're not talking any ordinary craft show—this event regularly attracts hundreds of both shoppers and sellers from around the country, organizers say. What started out as a very small holiday craft fair back in 1987 has now grown to one of the largest holiday shopping fairs under one roof for miles around, organizers say.

This weekend is the 27th annual event. Fair-goers can shop from hundreds of artisans, and take breaks with hot food and beverages.

Admission is $5 for a single day, or $8 for a two-day pass. The fair takes place this Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fairfax High School, 3501 Rebel Run in Fairfax City.

Free shuttle bus service is available on Saturday only beginning at 9:45 a.m. from the parking lot at Democracy Square, 10340 Democracy Square, located at the intersection of Old Lee Highway and Layton Hall Drive. Shuttles run continuously, with the last buses returning to the origin point at 5:30 p.m.
