Fairfax High Debuts 'Almost Maine' This Weekend

The romantic comedy is a journey into the modern and contemporary for the FX Players.

Travel to a fictional town that never quite became a town with the FX Players of Fairfax High School this weekend as they debut Almost, Maine.

The play is the first production under the school's new theater arts director, Erich DiCenzo, who just joined the school in July.

DiCenzo said this year, he really wanted to challenge the students with modern, contemporary shows the likes of which they hadn't attempted much before, and Almost, Maine appears to have really drawn the students in.
Almost, Maine is a new romantic comedy that takes place in a mythical town. The story follows a series of couples through attempts to make connections with each other. Each scene is a vignette that introduces a new couple, and as they stumble through life, they make connections in endearing and often funny ways, DiCenzo described.
DiCenzo said the students have really been thriving in their roles both onstage and backstage with Almost, Maine, and that he has been amazed at the quality of talent he has found at Fairfax High.
"These are already college-level actors. It makes me excited for the future," he told Patch previously.
