This Week: Charity Wine Tasting, Holiday Tree Lighting, Jazz 4 Justice and More

Veterans Day Observance. Join staff and elected officials from the City of Fairfax, along with members of the VFW Post 8469 and American Legion Post 177 for a ceremony to commemorate Veterans Day on Monday, 10-11:30 a.m. City Hall Veterans Amphitheater, 10455 Armstrong St.

Wine & Wonderment Charity Wine Tasting. 
Benefit Fairfax City-based nonprofit Our Daily Bread, which offers emergency assistance to families in need, while enjoying delicious wines and appetizers in the beautiful waterfall room at 2941 Restaurant. The event sold out last year, so register early. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 6:30 p.m. $50. 2491 Fairview Park Dr., Falls Church. 

Holiday Tree Lighting. The seasonal celebration will include horse and carriage rides, holiday entertainment, a visit from Santa, the ceremonial tree lighting and more. Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. Fairfax Corner, 4100 Monument Corner Dr. 

MOMS Club of Fairfax West Meeting. If you're a stay-at-home mom in the 22030, 22031, 22032 or 22033 zip codes, the MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support) of Fairfax West invites you to join in, meet other local moms and form lasting friendships for you and your children. This month's meeting will feature a music and movement program for the little ones, presented by Room 2 Music. Friday, 10:30 a.m., City of Fairfax Regional Library, 10360 North St.

Winter Walk of Lights Opens Friday. Experience over 500,000 LED lights and displays that bring Vienna's Meadowlark Botanical Gardens to life! Imagine the beauty of Meadowlark's renowned gardens transformed into a winter wonderland, including a flowing stream of softly glowing lights. Marvel at the two-story animated fountain, stroll past the Gingerbread Village, and explore the beauty of nature like you've never seen it. Opens Friday at 5:30 p.m. and runs through Jan. 5. Purchase tickets in advance here.

Jazz 4 Justice. Listen to some great music, for a great cause. The Mason Jazz Ensemble's annual event, Jazz 4 Justice, supports vital community and legal services in Fairfax and Prince William and music scholarships at George Mason University. $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students. GMU's Hylton Center for the Performing Arts, 10900 University Blvd., Manassas. Friday, Nov. 15, 8 p.m.
