Free Children's Show at Old Town Hall. Beloved local children's performer Mr. Skip will start your week off with music, fun and laughter at this free show from the City of Fairfax Commission for the Arts. Monday, Dec. 2 at 10:30 a.m. Old Town Hall, 3999 University Dr. at Main Street, Fairfax City.

Lunch With Santa!
 Santa Claus has once again made room in his schedule to stop by the Sherwood Community Center and have lunch with the little elves of Fairfax City this year. There will be three seatings at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Ages 12 and younger are welcome. Tickets are $6 per child and often sell out in advance. For info on purchasing tickets in advance, click here. This Saturday, Dec. 7. Sherwood Community Center, 3740 Old Lee Hwy., Fairfax City.

Firefighter Pancake Breakfast With Santa. If you're an early riser, you can join the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department for pancakes with special guest Santa Claus himself from 8-11 a.m. this Saturday, Dec. 7. Adults are $5, children ages 2-13 are $3, children under 3 are free. Fire Station #3, 4081 University Dr. in Fairfax City. All proceeds benefit fire department.

Trumpets Sound, Voices Ring!
 
Ring in the holiday season with the very popular Fairfax Choral Society and Washington Symphonic Brass at their annual concert of Christmas carols, many of which will be featured on their upcoming CD. This Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street NE, Vienna.

Support Rescue Animals With Holiday Fun. Mutt Love Rescues, a nonprofit based in Fairfax, is holding its holiday fundraiser and silent auction this Saturday, Dec. 7 on the top floor of the beautiful Merrifield Garden Center. Enjoy raffles, food and beverages, and bid in the silent auction. Admission is a $10 donation and can be bought in advance online here with discounts for groups, or can be paid by cash or check at the door. 12101 Lee Hwy, Fairfax, at 6 p.m.

Piano Music & Christmas Sing-AlongMark your calendars for a Christmas festival of piano music and carol sing-alongs this Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m. at the Fairfax Christian Church, 10185 Main Street. 

Christmas Concert. Dr. Jonathan Giblin will direct the Chancel and Chapel Choirs of Fairfax United Methodist Church in a concert of Christmas music from the German and Hispanic cultures. The concert will include baroque cantatas by German composers and a contemporary masterpiece by Conrad Susa. This Sunday, Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m. Fairfax United Methodist Church, 10300 Stratford Ave., Fairfax City. For more information call the church at 703-591-3120.

Festival of Lights & Carols, and Tree Lighting. Come enjoy live holiday music, hot cider, s'mores by the Yule log and caroling in the 'winter wonderland' on the grounds of the Kitty Pozer Garden beginning at noon. Activities will continue throughout the day, leading up to the lighting of the City Christmas Tree at 5 p.m. The garden will be lit with hundreds of animated holiday lights courtesy of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority and the Bull Run Festival of Lights.
