VIDEO: Contest Crowns Hard Times Cafe Bartender

The local-run Fastest Bartender Contest spent three nights in Fairfax City.

Northern Virginia crowned a Hard Times Cafe bartender last night in the finals of the Fastest Bartender Contest at Crystal City Sports Pub.

Jocalyn Reynolds took home Fastest honors after making it through several qualifier and semifinal rounds. Another Hard Times bartender, Heather O'Neill, claimed second while Luke Plikaitis from Spider Kelly's in Arlington closed out the rankings in third.

The months-long Fastest Bartender Contest uses over a dozen qualifier rounds (three of which were held in Fairfax City this year) to separate the mixologists from the amateurs. Bartenders, spectators and supporters pack local bars, cheering for their favorite competitors and raising money for charity.
