Financials: Over the years the Loyola Foundation has awarded more than $45 million in grants. During the 2009 fiscal year, the Loyola Foundation reported its total expenses were $2.3 million. More financial information is available on the organization's website.

History: Albert G. McCarthy and his family created the organization in 1957. It is dedicated to the missionary spirit of the Catholic Church and has assisted in more than 6,000 projects around the world. Today the nonprofit focuses on those projects that may not receive sufficient support from traditional funding sources.
