Free Tax Prep Help for Lower-Income Taxpayers!

This Saturday, February 22, volunteers from Deloitte will provide free tax preparation service to qualified community members at an event called Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

If you or your family earned less than $52,000 in 2013 you are eligible for this service.  Deloitte volunteers are dedicated to helping families get their best possible return.  Many families may qualify for special tax credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly or Disabled. The EITC is one of the federal government’s most effective anti-poverty policies; it lifts more than five million Americans above the federal poverty line each year.  Each year millions of EITC refunds go unclaimed in Fairfax County. The potential refunds may directly impact a family’s cash flow.

The event will take place at Fairfax SkillSource Center – Annandale, Heritage Center, 7611 Little River Turnpike, Suite 300 West, Annandale, Virginia, 22003 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22.  For important details visit http://http//www.volunteerfairfax.org/individuals/vita.php .
