9/11 - Serve in remembrance

Volunteer Fairfax encourages giving back through service on 9/11 and all year long.

Yesterday, Volunteer Fairfax was invited to commemorate the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance and National Preparedness Month with an afternoon of service dedicated to supporting veterans and first responders. The event, organized by Serve DC and HandsOn Greater DC Cares, featured hands-on service projects, emergency preparedness demonstrations and trainings, volunteer recruitment fair, and a speaking program with local and national leaders. Volunteer Fairfax spoke with those in attendance about volunteer opportunities in their community. While it is important to volunteer in remembrance on 9/11, nonprofits have needs all year. Volunteer Fairfax works to connect individuals to the causes they care about. Visit www.volunteerfairfax.org to learn about opportunities to give back.
