World Cup Final Match Screening Sunday in Fairfax

Music, family activities and street closure for big-screen event.

The excitement may be over for the U.S. team, but Fairfax will be celebrating the final match of the FIFA World Cup with a special event Sunday.

Held every four years, the World Cup is an international soccer tournament that has captured more attention in 2014 in the U.S. than ever.

The Fairfax event will be at 2 p.m. Sunday on North Street in Old Town Fairfax. Roads close at noon.

There will be music and family activities. Kick-off will be at 3 p.m.

Matches on Tuesday and Wednesday will set the teams for the finals. Brazil and Germany meet Tuesday and Netherlands and Argentina meet Wednesday.
