Woodson Girls Lax Warm Up Against Stone Bridge, Yorktown

The Cavaliers win both scrimmages.

The W.T. Woodson Cavaliers girl’s lacrosse team opened its 2012 preseason last week with scrimmages against two teams at far ends of the Northern Region.

Tuesday night the Cavs traveled west to Loudoun County to take on the Stone Bridge Bulldogs. The game proved to be a high-scoring affair. When the dust finally settled, Woodson emerged on top by an unofficial scrimmage count of 22 – 18.

The Cavs' next contest had them on the road again, this time heading east to Arlington where they took on the Yorktown Patriots. Yorktown jumped out to an early lead in the game before Woodson hit stride. After trailing 4 – 2 in the first half, the Cavs pulled away, controlling the second half to end the game with comfortable win.
