Rebel Cheer Wins Northern Region Championships
Squad will prepare for state championships Nov. 10
The Fairfax High School cheerleading squad took the Northern Region Championships on Saturday with 283 points, besting second place Herndon by six points.
It's the second consecutive year the Rebels have won the championship: They beat out Stone Bridge High in last years championships by seven points.
The top four teams in the region advance to the state competition Nov. 10 at the VCU Siegel Center in Richmond, including the Northern Region Champions Fairfax Rebels (283 pts), runner-up Herndon Hornets (277 pts), third place team Stone Bridge Bulldogs (267.5) and fourth place team Chantilly Chargers (264).
