Fairfax Little League Team Headed to State Tournament

This is the first national district majors win since 2003. State tournament begins Thursday in Lynchburg, Va.

The Fairfax National 11-12 Year Old (Majors) Little League team beat SYA East Little League this week, 7-0, at Chantilly Park to capture the Virginia Little League District 10 Championship.

The team won the District Title last year in the 10-11 Year Old Division. They went undefeated in the District Tournament and shut out an SYA East team that scored 71 runs in their four previous District Tournament games.

Fairfax National will play at the State Tournament in Lynchburg, Va., starting July 18. Little League Majors Divisions All-Star teams can compete at state and regional tournaments to ultimately compete at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn. 

This was the first Fairfax National District Majors Championship since 2003.

The players are Danny Checkosky, Andrew Dunetz, Sean Goggins, Brien Krug, Bryce Haynes, Jack Looney, Ethan Macht, Nick Margraf, Jonas Murphy, Cameron Price, Ethan Rothstein, Ryan Townsend, and Lars Wathne.

The coaches are Julius Rothstein, Cliff Krug, Mark Haynes and Wade Townsend.
