George Mason University on 'Great Colleges to Work For' List

Survey of staff, policies highlight work-life balance and respect and appreciation, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

If you spot folks smiling on the campus at George Mason University, it might just be the staff. The school was recognized Monday for the 7th year as a "Great College to Work For" by the Chronicle of Higher Education

The results came from anonymous surveys of staff and an audit of school demographics and work-life policies. The school shined in two categories: work/life balance in the workplace and respect and appreciation in the compensation.

In a release, Linda Harber, vice president for human resources, payroll and faculty/staff life said it was the faculty and staff that earned the recognition. 

“Their caring and collaborative nature is what makes this university a truly great place to work every day," Harber said.
