Fairfax Courthouse Skirmish Commemoration Program

Commemoriate the first land conflict of organized military units at the Fairfax Courthouse with the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County Sesquicentennial Committees.

The program includes wreath-laying at 1904 Marr Monument, the dedication of the new Civil War Trails marker, and an historical dramatization and lecture inside the old courthouse by reenactors portraying Confederates Richard Ewell and “Extra Billy” Smith, and Union leader Lt. Charles Tompkins.
