FredEdwords has a long history in organized humanism. For 15 years he was executive director of the American
Humanist Association and for 12 years editor of the Humanist magazine. He is past president of Camp Quest, a summer camp for freethinking children, and has served on the board of the International Humanist and Ethical Union and the founding board of the National Center for Science Education. As a continuing voice for humanist ideas, he has, over the past thirty-five years, appeared on
national and local television in the United States and Canada, been interviewed on radio and for newspapers around the world, and has lectured in North America,
Europe, and India.
