Two White House Interns From Fairfax Area

Students spending their summer at D.C.'s most recognizable address.

Internships always offer on-the-job experience and, hopefully, a few stories to share around the dorm in the fall, but few internships offer that experience at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The White House has announced the names of its more than 140 summer interns, including two from the Fairfax area, according to The Associated Press. They are Lisa Marrone of Centreville and Anna Stapleton of Fairfax.

Interns are selected based on a commitment to public service, demonstrated leadership in the community and a commitment to the mission of the Obama Administration, according to whitehouse.gov.

The application process for the 2015 intern program is already open.
