Tall Grass/Weed Violation Process Updated, City to Act Fast on Overgrown Properties

Plus, information on how to report a violation this spring.

Release, City of Fairfax:

With spring comes the growth of grass and weeds — and enforcement of related city ordinances.

Grass and weeds taller than six inches constitute a City Code violation.  Owners of properties in violation will be given notice to cut the grass or weeds within 10 days.  If the violation is not addressed in that time, the city will send a contractor to the property to mow the yard and the property owner will receive an invoice for the cost of the mowing.
