On the Agenda: Biz Leaders and Council Members Discuss Downtown

Westmore School, 8k in Green Acres and Cue bus system also up for debate.

Council members and business leaders will meet at the end of the city council meeting tonight to discuss ways to improve Fairfax City's downtown.
The round-table discussion comes after business owners decried the decision to . 
Prompted by a letter sent to the council by the Downtown Fairfax Coalition on Dec. 27, the talks intend to identify specific problems within the downtown as well as possible solutions and ideas for further improvement. You can find this information and more on the agenda.

  • Spend $550,000 to demolish the old Westmore School building on Berry Street.
  • Allow INOVA Fairfax Hospital to hold an 8K race through Green Acres.
  • Dedicate more funds to the Cue bus system thanks to a decrease in state aid and no Cue revenue increases.
