Local Delegates to Hold Public Forum Before First Session of 2014

General Assembly Delegates from throughout the area want to hear questions and comments from the public before session starts.

Have a question or comment you'd like to reach your state delegate's ears before the first session of 2014 starts in Richmond?

If so, next Saturday is your chance.

General Assembly Delegates from throughout the area will amass at the County Government Center in Fairfax next Saturday, Jan. 4 for a public forum, during which they hope to hear questions and comments from constituents before the first session of the new year begins.

The County is helping to organize the logistics of the event, and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Sharon Bulova, will be welcoming the Delegates and give brief remarks at the start of the forum at 9 a.m.

Individuals who wish to sign up in advance to speak at the hearing should contact the Office of the Clerk to the Board of Supervisors at 703-324-3151, TTY 711, by noon on Friday, Jan. 3. Speakers also may sign up at the hearing.

Other questions or requests for handicap/disabled accommodations can be directed Nicole Lewis at 703-324-2640 or Katie Boyle at 703-324-2649.  Requests for accommodations should be made by Dec. 31.

Further information on the public comment hearing is available from members of the Fairfax County legislative delegation. Contact information for individual delegation members is available on the Virginia General Assembly web page
