Fairfax Sign Enforcement Underway
And, it looks like they have their work cut out for them.
Tuesday marked the first day that workers cleaned up illegal signs on county roads as part of a new agreement with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Cleanups will be performed weekly Tuesday through Thursday.
The workers are nonviolent prisoners enrolled in the County Labor Force, a program run through the office of the county sheriff.

Posting political campaign signs and advertisements in the medians of state roadways is illegal, and thanks to the new agreement with VDOT, the county is finally able to enforce the law and clean up the signs. Officials and residents have said they are both an eyesore and a safety hazard to drivers.
