Don't Forget to Pay Your County Tax Bill!

They're due in less than two weeks.

Personal property taxes for Fairfax County residents, which include taxes on cars, motorcycles, boats and other personal property, are due Monday, Oct. 7—that’s in less than two weeks.

Residents should have already received their property tax bill from Fairfax County. If you misplaced it or didn’t receive it, contact the Department of Tax Administration between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. You can call 703-222-8234 or send an email to dtappd@fairfaxcounty.gov

The bill includes a $33 registration fee for vehicles that are stored or parked in the county. This registration fee is $38 for vehicles weighing more than 4,000 lbs., and is $18 for motorcycles.

Fairfax County does not have a county sticker or windshield decal, but residents in the towns of Clifton, Herndon and Vienna have separate fees or decal requirements.

There are several ways to pay, including online, by mail, by phone, through a mobile app or in-person. You can pay by cash, check or credit card. Payments sent by mail must be postmarked by Oct. 7 to avoid late fees.
