Dog Licenses for City Residents Due Soon

Applications can be filed in in person or online.

Are you a dog owner?

If you are, and you live within the City limits, you must file for your dog's license by Feb. 1.

Licenses are required for all dogs 4 months of age and older, and all dogs must be vaccinated against rabies.

Licenses are $5 per year for spayed or neutered dogs, or $10 per year for unaltered dogs.

Dogs not wearing a 2014 license tag by Feb. 1 will be in violation of City Code, and owners will be subject to a fine, said City officials.

Dog owners may purchase multi-year licenses that are valid for the same length of time as the dog's rabies certification.

To apply for a license, a dog's owner must present a valid rabies certificate for each dog and, if applicable, a neutered/spayed certificate from the dog’s veterinarian (required for first-time licenses only).

Licenses may be purchased in person at the Treasurer’s Office in City Hall, 10455 Armstrong St.

Applications also may be submitted on the City’s website.
