District 34: Candidates Plan Campaign Events for Labor Day Weekend

Campaigning doesn't stop for these state senate candidates over the holiday weekend.

Between the barbeques, the pool parties and the Monday holiday, your social calendar may already be full this weekend. But if you're in the mood for some campaigning, this is what the District 34 State Senate candidates will be up to.

Candidate Gerarda Culipher's campaign will be door-knocking in the Pope's Head Precinct on Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Volunteers are asked to meet at the , 5550 Ox Rd. in Fairfax Station.

Incumbent candidate Chap Petersen will be hosting a volunteer "thank-you" party at in Fairfax City on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Supporters are invited to enjoy free hot dogs and hamburgers, some music and even a moonbounce. Bumper stickers and yard signs will be distributed at the event, too.
