The 34th district consists of parts of Centreville, Vienna, Oakton, Annandale, Burke, Fairfax Station and Fairfax City. Petersen , Gerarda Culipher, in the newly-configured district last November. I would love to know what Governor McDonnell has down to help the Commonwealth? Please let his accomplishments since becoming Governor. I'm sure the list will be a blank sheet of paper. What about Wolf? List his accomplishments as well as a 32 year Congressman. If you want someone to explore your uterus or want higher tolls, then these are your guys. Worthless.

Chap is a class act and would be a very good Governor. We need a Governor for all the people not just the rich and those who are in the business community. We need elected officials who work for all the people instead of just some of the people.

The self-described "patriots" who have claimed the Republican Party are leading the country toward plutocracy. I was a Republican for 25 years but the party no longer represtents the American people. It represents the very wealthy and is supported by the ill-informed and self-serving. Although not a Democrat I'll vote for anyone who isn't a Republican - especially against our reactionary Virginia Attorney General. I also plan to contribute to Wayne Powell's campaign against Eric Cantor. The Republican Party claims to represent personal liberty but, in truth, is its greatest threat. I totally agree! These are reasons I no longer vote Republican (and haven't for a number of years). The Republican party is all for personal liberty - as long as it is their particular brand of liberty. Those who disagree are considered targets for extinction by the far right wing extremists. They ignore the facts and rely on rhetoric and fear to garner votes. We don't need these kinds of people in power.

I agree -- sadly Chap has changed a lot in the past few years. Two years ago, he worked with one of my son's friends on a bill to include a high school representative in discussions affecting education and sought bipartisan support for it. Back then he used to say there were many Republicans he could work with. Not anymore. Anyone who buys totally into the party line of either one of the major parties is willfully blinding themselves to the faults each party has. There are issues each party supports that I agree with and there are others I cringe at. I vote in each election and most of the time I do a write-in candidate because career politicians are so dishonest and corrupt. In order to move up in the ranks they have to sell out on their ideals -- only the ones who are able to do that can get the party's support, and in return the party expects blind obedience to the party line.
