Bridge Replacement: Traffic Delays, Noise Warnings

Work part of Chain Bridge Road bridge replacement project in City of Fairfax.

The City of Fairfax is warning drivers of additional temporary traffic delays for a short time Friday as part of the Chain Bridge Road bridge replacement project. The city also warned that residents in the area will potentially hear noise from the construction beginning next week.

At approximately noon Friday, construction crew members will be offloading a drill machine, requiring momentary traffic stops on the southbound lane across a temporary bridge. Traffic north is already detoured as part of the project.
