Third-Floor Apartment Catches Fire on Willow Crescent Drive

No one was hurt.

A third floor apartment fire drew firefighters from Fairfax City and surrounding towns Saturday afternoon.

When firefighters arrived at Oakton Park Apartments on Willow Crescent Drive at around 5 p.m. they saw no sign of flames from the roof, only smoke. As they made their way into the building they found boxes on fire on apartment 3332's balcony, according to Fairfax City Battalion Chief Andrew Vita.

3332's occupants were inside the apartment when the fire started but where able to evacuate safely.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the attic or adjacent apartments. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
