Third Flood Victim, Missing Person Found Dead in Fort Belvoir

Death toll rises with apparent drowning of Lorton man.

So far Thursday's floods have claimed two lives. Now police are investigating the death of a third victim.

Fairfax County Police believe Galo Sebastian Salvador Vinueza, 25, of Lorton drowned Thursday night. His wife came home around 7:40 p.m. and didn't see Vinueza. She found his vehicle parked, unattended, in the 8800 block of Telegraph Road near Accotink Creek Bridge, according to police.

Vinueza's body was found Friday on Fort Belvoir base at the Davison Air Field.

"It appears he attempted to walk across the flooded bridge on foot but was swept away by the current," according to county police.

Fort Belvoir fire and emergency services helped Fairfax County Police search for the missing man. Police are still investigating the incident along with the Army Criminal Investigatons Division.

Vinueza is the third person to die in Thursday's flood. a 12-year-old Vienna boy and a man in Great Falls.
