Taylor Drive House Fire Started in Kitchen

No one was injured.

A 911 operator told Taylor Drive residents to evacuate their house after a fire started in the kitchen Friday afternoon.

The fire started to spread before Fairfax City firefighters arrived at 4041 Taylor Dr. They saw smoke and fire from the front and back of the house, according to Battalion Chief Andrew Vita. After an onsite assessment, they decided to enter the home in a simple manner -- by walking through the front door.

Firefighters quickly killed the fire and began salvage and overhaul operations.
