SUV Careens Into Jerry's Subs on Main Street

A two-vehicle accident was reported around 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

The driver of a 2009 blue Jeep Liberty crashed into the building of , located at  9668 Main St., on Friday morning after the back of the SUV was clipped by a 1992 4-door green Toyota Camry.

Officer J.R. Johnson with the Fairfax City Police Department said restaurant has been totally condemned and the property damage is estimated around $50,000.

Neither driver was injured in the accident. Jerry's Subs was closed at the time of the crash. No one was present inside the building.

Both drivers were stopped at stop signs just before impact and both claim to have come to a full stop and looked both ways. Police have determined from surveillance footage that the Camry clipped the back of the SUV and the driver of the SUV, instead of braking, hit the accelerator, causing the Jeep to run through the sub shop.

Neither driver has been charged at this time.
