Rare Bank Robbery in City of Fairfax

Investigators still trying to identify the suspect in the case, according to Fairfax City Police Department.

Fairfax is investigating its first bank robbery in more than three years, according to City of Fairfax Police.

At 7:07 p.m. Thursday, an unidentified man entered the TD Bank at 11098 Fairfax Boulevard. The man reportedly approached the counter and presented a handgun while demanding money. The teller complied, according to police, and the suspect grabbed the cash and ran out the back door of the bank. He fled in the direction of Bevan Drive and Kutner Park.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 40s, approximately 5'5", with a thin build and long blond hair. He was last seen wearing a red cap, a mask, a black jacket and khaki pants.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call City of Fairfax Police at 703-385-7924, Detective Mike Boone at 703-385-7959 or Crime Solvers at 703-591-TIPS (8477). Callers to Crime Solvers may remain anonymous and receive an award of up to $1000 if their information results in an arrest. 

The last bank robbery in the City of Fairfax was November 2010.
