Police: Stolen License Plates, Fake Documentation and ID

The following incident and arrest information was supplied by the City of Fairfax Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Latest crime news:

• Larceny, 3700 Block of Farr Avenue: Someone(s) stole Virginia license plates from a salvage yard vehicle in South Carolina. The vehicle owner reported the plates missing on Jan. 11. The plates were later found on a vehicle involved in a speeding fine in Washington D.C.
• Larceny, 9695 Main Street: Someone(s) stole a billfold containing cash, credit cards and identification from a purse in a Main Street office building on Jan. 11
• Larceny, Curry Mantra: Someone(s) stole a pair of glasses and a City of Fairfax decal from an unlocked vehicle in the Curry Mantra parking lot at around 6 p.m. Jan. 12.
• Unauthorized Use/Forged Public Records, Brown’s Mazda: Toan Ngoc Phuong Nguyen, 23, of Springfield allegedly purchased a vehicle with fake co-signer documentation on Jan. 8. Police charged Nguyen with unauthorized use and obtaining goods with the intent to defraud. Officers later discovered Nguyen had used a fake driver's license in the transaction and charged him with felony forgery of public records.
