Fairfax City police arrested a man wanted in six local counties after responding to a TD Bank alarm last week. Another person lost a wallet at a Home Depot checkout line. Read on for the details.

A D.C. man was arrested Tuesday night after an alarm called police to the TD Bank on Fairfax Boulevard in Fairfax City. Rodney Evans, 41, of Wilmington Place, Washington D.C, was arrested and held in lieu of bail at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center for a number of charges:

  • An outstanding warrant in Alexandria for auto theft and identity fraud.
  • Probation violation for assaulting a police officer and grand larceny in Arlington County.
  • Wanted in Anne Arundel County, Md., for unlawful taking of a vehicle.
  • Sought in Howard County, Md., for failure to appear in court for a larceny charge.
  • Wanted in Prince George's County, Md., for larceny.
  • Sought in Montgomery County, Md., for auto theft.

When police arrived at the scene around 9:24 p.m., they noticed a vehicle parked next to the bank. The person inside the vehicle claimed his relative was looking at cars at a dealership. Police checked with a TD Bank employee who said that a man had left the area when he saw the officers approach. They later stopped a car similar to the vehicle spotted at the scene. Evans rode in the passenger seat. Police did not release the identity of the driver.
