Police: Man Snatches Woman's Wallet from Hand

Fairfax City police search for suspect in Friday incident near University Drive.

Fairfax City Police are looking for a man they say snatched a wallet out of a woman's hand Friday afternoon and then took off.

A woman told police she parked her car in a parking lot at University Drive and North Street at 1:53 p.m. Friday. When she got out of the vehicle, a man approached her, snatched her wallet from her hand and ran.

The wallet contained the woman's ID, credit cards and checks.

She was not injured in the incident, police said.

Police said the suspect is a Hispanic male about 5-foot-6, wearing a black beanie hat, black t-shirt, khaki pants and white sneakers.
