Police: Juvenile Says Man Followed, Sexually Assaulted Her

Plus, charity worker is the victim of an attempted robbery, according to Fairfax City Police.

A man is accused of sexual battery after an incident last week when a juvenile girl says she was followed and assaulted after leaving a restaurant, according to Fairfax City Police.

Jose Octavio Ramos Guzman, 43, of 9411 Lee Highway, Fairfax, is charged with sexual battery and drunk in public. Guzman's bond was set at $500.

At 7:18 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a report from a juvenile victim. She told police that she was leaving the Chipotle Restaurant at 11062 Lee Highway when she was followed by Guzman.

He allegedly engaged in unwanted touching of her, according to police.

Attempted Robbery 

9688 Main Street / Fair City Mall – On April 9 at 5:21 PM a male subject who had been soliciting money on behalf of a charity reported that another male subject had attempted to grab an envelope containing the cash from the victim’s hand but that he had been able to retain custody of the money and no cash was taken. Both subjects then left the area. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a thin black male in his twenties, unshaven and with unkempt hair wearing a blue t-shirt, jeans with holes in them and a long sleeved shirt tied around his waist. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case. 

Weapons Violation 

9622 Main Street / Shoppers Food Warehouse Parking Lot – On April 13 at 9:59 AM the victim, a 58 year old Alexandria area man, reported that while standing in the parking lot he had been struck by an Airsoft ball which he believed had been discharged by the occupants of a red pickup truck which he had observed leaving the area. The victim did not require medical treatment. 

Larceny

9508 Payless Boulevard / Payless Shoes – On April 13 at 5:31 PM an employee reported that unknown person(s) had stolen her iPhone which she had left on a shelf while attending to customers.
