The driver of the vehicle deserted his vehicle and fled on foot.

A police chase early Friday morning ended with the driver deserting his car after a crash and fleeing the area on foot, according to Virginia State Police.

The driver of the vehicle fled onto I-495 southbound. At 3:05 a.m., as the driver was taking the exit for Route 29/Route 50, the vehicle crashed. The driver then fled on foot, Geller said. Fairfax County Police called out a tracking canine and aviation support, while the two police agencies established a perimeter around the immediate area.

Police seized the suspect's vehicle as evidence, but have not made an arrest at this time. The investigation into locating the pursuit suspect is ongoing at this time.
